I cannot do a project like this without help. I am so grateful for the help of a Delaware State University student by the name of Danielle Williams. Early on in the project, I was canvassing Main Street Middletown, Delaware, letting the local merchants and business owners about the project. One of them (a local dry cleaners) put the flyer I left on the business bulletin board. Danielle saw it and came to one of my community information sessions I held at my church.
She volunteered to help me with the project. She did so, with no compensation beyond experience, for a few months, and then we entered an arrangement where she would be my intern for college credit as part of her degree. Danielle is still working with me and I keep learning from her and I hope she is gaining something from me as well.
Hopefully, her schedule will allow her to travel with me to other Middletowns. I hopefully, I will be able to win some grant money and I'll be able to pay her!
